Those Hats, Those Shoes, Wow...Um...Just Wow!

One of greatest things about living in San Francisco is the vast amount of entertainment options available. I love going to musicals and comedy shows.

Musicals are a great way to tell a story with the added emotions brought on by music. This can be seen in the explosive popularity of shows like Glee and movies like Les Miserable, Rent, Chicago, and Moulin Rouge. What better way is there to entertain than to bring together the music that you love with an outrageous and unbelievable story.

Like most Musicals, Comedy Shows and Concerts,
they didn't allow flash photography inside.
Despite that, the show will leave you with some pretty vivid memories.
As for comedians, I am always up for a good clean laugh. San Francisco often plays hosts to many great word smiths. Comedians play with words and manipulate things we know to create irony, sarcasm, and alternative meaning of words. Most comedians get a quick laugh with dirty jokes, but there is that occasional “diamond in the rough.” Great comedians are ones that make you think about what is normal in your life as you laugh “your bl*%# off”.

The occasion that the “Wow Shoes” came out on was to a show that combined both the musical and the comical. I wore them on the night I took a friend to Beach Blanket Babylon, San Francisco's longest running musical. BBB follows the story of Snow White as she searches for her prince charming. As she searches, she meets all sorts of crazy characters (all familiar to us) that guide her to “Prince Charming.”

The Great thing about BBB is that it is a little different every time you see it. They change it to incorporate the most relevant and up to date popular media. Thus, their current guests include Honey Boo Boo, Gangnam Style, 50 Shades of Grey, the Royal Couple and Obama. The first time I saw it guests included Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Oprah, Michael Jackson (the baby drop), Martha Stewart and George W. Bush.

The night was full of Outlandish Music, Outstanding Laughs, Out-done Clothes, and an over all stand-out night complete with a standing ovation.
